Access Keys

Access keys let you navigate around a website without using a mouse. These follow the UK government recommended set of access keys. The following Access keys apply to the Studio website. Skip navigation on any given page allows you to bypass the navigation areas and go directly to that page's main content.

Colours

We have taken care to ensure that the site's font and background colour combinations contrast significantly and are effective in ensuring information is clear and is usable by people with a range of visual impairments. We've have also designed all pages so that all information that is conveyed with colour is also available without colour. The colour scheme throughout the site has been checked against the following types of colour blindness and no problems have been detected:

  • Deuteranope
  • Tritanope

Standards

Studio is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adheres to many of the available standards and guidelines.

The pages on this site conform to WCAG AA approved standards, complying with all priority 1 and 2 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people. We have reviewed all the guidelines and believe that we are in compliance but whilst Studio strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.

Content

All the content has been written and formatted to help make it more accessible. For example:

  • Headings highlight sections of text.
  • Sentences are short with the meaning at the beginning.
  • Links use meaningful text.
  • Forms can be navigated using the tab key.

Navigation

We have made navigation links consistent between pages and the site:

  • navigation fully accessible by using only the keyboard. You can use the tab key
  • on your keyboard (as well as your mouse) to move from consecutive link to link.

Images, videos and other non-text elements

Where ever possible we have made it so that Studio can be used

  • without graphics or images showing. Non-text elements, such as
  • images, symbols, audio, video and multimedia have text
  • equivalents if necessary, this is done by providing a descriptive
  • alt attribute for them. Decorative graphics or formatting
  • images have empty alt attributes.
